Trip to California

What an excitement. Let me tell you. This was a "spur of the moment" trip. Glen's Uncle passed away and we wanted to be able to be there for the funeral services. We decided wednesday night that we would be going "DRIVING" down to the Los Angeles area of California. We rented and car and took off thursday morning. So let me tell you how stressed i was about getting everything ready. I packed the kids stuff then worried about making sure Glen and I had all of our stuff. My sister Chyanne is staying with us so she got to come along for the ride. We left thursday morning at about 11 am and arrived to our destination at 11 am friday. The kids did pretty good for the most part, there was some crying and some screaming and they even got some sleeping in there. This was our first family road trip!! We made it in time for the funeral and glen got to see a lot of his family he hasn't seen in a long time. We spent the rest of our time there visiting with Glens mom, dad, brother and sister. The kids got to meet their grandma and grandpa, aunt and Uncle on daddy's side of the family. WE had a wonderful visit. They also took us to Knotts Berry farm, which Marquis loved, he went on his first ride by himself. I think we all really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed for 4 days, on Monday we ate dinner with the family and sadly piled back in to the car for the horrible-dreaded ride home. It took us 12 hours to get out of California due to road construction, Marquis got sick and puked all over the place and both the kids cried and screamed more than they did on the way down. Mom, dad and Chyanne got very little sleep and we finally arrived back home at 9 pm tuesday night. However, our visit was well worth the effort.
