Locked IN

Well, yesterday morning started out like any other morning the kids and I got up and watched cartoons for about 10-15 minutes then i got up to make something for breakfast. Marquis wanted a muffin, and we keep the muffins in our freezer out in the garage. So I with my robe on go a few steps out the door into the garage. I was out for less than a minute and turn around to come back in and Marquis has locked the door. Now when Marquis locks a door he doesn't know how to unlock it, we have learned this from the many times he has locked himself in the bathroom but its really easy to get him out. Well not so easy for mom to get back in. I tried talking to him through the door and telling him how to unlock it. He did not understand. So i tried picking the lock, no luck there either. I was stressing out. I had no phone, my neighbors weren't home. I climbed the fence to our back yard to try the sliding glass door, it was locked. I looked through the window and Marquis was just sitting there watching cartoons, no sign of Madisyn. I knocked on the window and Marquis came running over. I tried again to show/tell him how to unlock the door, he could barely reach the look on the sliding glass door and he kept saying "no work mommy". I then started looking for any unlocked windows, i found 1 i took the screen out and tried to open it, didn't work, we had a metal bar in it so no one can break in. ha ha! At this point i am freaking out, i can't see Madisyn and Marquis can't figure out how to help me. I asked him to get a chair from the table, and he cutely says "ok mommy" and gos running over to the rocking chair in the living room and looks at me. No not that chair dear. Then i ask him to try and get in Madiysn's high chair to get the bar out of the kitchen window and he says "no way mommy", i think because i always tell him not to climb on it. So that was smart of him. So now i am crying because i can't get in my house, and my 1 and 2 year old are in there alone. I go back into the garage to try and break in again, only to hear Madisyn crying because marquis had shut her in the laundry room. I was getting no where. I went to the front door and talked to Marquis through the little window, he FINALLY unlocked a door, i was excited and went to open the door only to find out the latch was on the door at the very top. So now i have to find a way to get this thing off the door. I hear a mans voice from the road "good morning" i turned and said good morning while crying and continue to try and break in my house. Not knowing what else to do i ask the man to help me break in my house. I was a little scared after doing so thought, what if he beats me over the head, gets in my house and takes my kids. He didn't he, we found one of Glens tools in the garage and he pried open the latch and i got into my crying children. Thank you so much to that man who helped me. He probably thought i was a bad mom and looked like a freak out in my robe trying to break into my own house. That is a day i will never forget. So many things went through my head in that 30 minutes i was locked out and my children were locked in.
