So last week Glen and I took the kids and drove 6 1/2 hrs to Las Vegas to meet up with my old roommate, teammate and wonderful friend from Hawaii. We had a lovely time but this trip wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for my grandmas sending us a little extra money. so thank you to her. WE left Wednesday morning and arrived to our hotel (the Orleans) at about 1:30. The kids were a little disappointed the pool was closed but we made up for it with all the fun things we did. I must say the strip is way more fun and entertaining at night. We watched some of the free shows like the volcano eruption at the mirage (Madisyn was terrified of the fire that came out and thought it had burned her hair off) it was kinda hot, the water fountain show at Belagio, and we tried to watch the pirate show at Treasure Island but it was not appropriate the girls may as well have been doing some type of strip show. LOL. We took the kids to Tournament of the Knights, where we had a 3 course meal and watched jousting, sword fighting and lots of fun entertaining this. The kids loved it, we also went to the Shark reef at Mandalay Bay, which was cool but not worth what they charge to get in.We went to the M&M world and Marquis and Madisyn got M&M shirts, we went ot MGM and saw the lions and we tried to go to a carshow but it was ghetto.Oh and we went to circus circus but it was really ghetto and the kids rides and games were outragously priced. We hung out with my dear friend Kapu, the kids were a little shy at first being their first time meeting her, but they warmed up quickly and ask about her everyday now.It was great to get to see her after 5 years. I miss that girl. We had a lot of fun times together.
We were in Vegas 3 nights and 4 days, we did a tone of walking, glen always asked "how many miles do you think we walked today?" i had no idea. We went down to the strip every day and night. The kids did pretty good but i think next time we go we should go without the kids they got bored quickly.Anyway overall we had a good time it was nice to go on a little vacation.
We got back saturday night and of course i got sick, the next day was my birthday and marquis had to say a scripture at church. He did a pretty good job being his first time. I was surprised he didn't throw a fit having to go up there and he actually spoke not that anyone could hear him except me and i was right up there beside him telling hiim the scripture to repeat. Then at home Glen made my birthday dinner and i made my birthday cake. The kids had been wanting to have a monster birthday party so i made the monster mike off of monsters inc on my cake and they thought it was pretty cool. So we ate dinner and cake and watched the super bowl for my 26th birthday. It is still hard to believe that i am already 26 yrs old. i feel like it came so fast.
